To be honest, I'm not sure of the draw of it but as its within the "shopping, restaurant" area you aren't really going out of your way to see it. We stopped for a few minutes to get a photo then moved on. I suppose the fact that its so unique is a reason to look for it within the beautiful cobblestoned streets.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 April 2023
- themanofecNorth Canton, Ohio536 contributionsMust SeeYes, it is on the smaller side and rather silly to do but it is the staple of town. It was crowded when we went there but was not hard to find and everyone just waited their turn for videos and pictures. It is worth doing for the pictures and to see the staple of town.Visited March 2023Written 2 April 2023
- AlconcalciaLondon, United Kingdom87 contributionsDon't expect to be wowed.Hard to believe that this is pretty much what Brussels is most famous for. Yes, it's a pleasant enough structure, but at 22 inches high, a very underwhelming sight - a bit like the feeling when you get to the Mona Lisa in Paris and discover it's actually quite a small painting. It's also very crowded there, with lots of people scrambling to take photos with the peeing boy. Far preferred the Atomium as a spectacle, but at least we can see we have seen this. I'd say, worth going to, but don't expect to be wowed.Visited April 2023Written 15 April 2023
- TAMAN1951Liberty Lake, Washington6,626 contributionsInteresting stopThis is s true symbol of Brussels. This is a must see and it had fairly easy access. Our visit here was short but it does not require s lot if time to see what you need to see here. Well worth the time and effort to enjoy this art.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 April 2023
- RunawayNFlyFlorida30 contributionsDon't forget to visit Mannequin Pis if you are in Brussels! This is a MUST SEE if you head to Brussels and one that you won't forget for quite some time. In the corner is a little boy peeing. How adorable! Who WOULDN'T fi d that cute and a natural thing to do?And....this has been seen and cherished by so many people, tourists and citizens of Brussels alike!Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 5 June 2023
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China14,495 contributionsTourist must-doSeeing the small statue of the pissing child is a must for many tourists. Manneken Pis is one of the most famous kids in the world. While the origin and story of the small boy remains contested, taking a photo next to the Brussels resident is always a remarkable affair.Visited June 2023Written 12 June 2023
- hobbit3111Edinburgh, United Kingdom55 contributionsGotta be done!So random and bizarre but a fun thing to see and takes all of a minute or two. Bit sad he had a weird cloak on - would rather be able to actually see the statue himself. Fun and touristy part of town - worth going to the street generally even if only to enjoy the lush sweet smell everywhere! (Makes a nice change to the smell of pee in the rest of the city!)Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 July 2023
- Keith RHong Kong, China551 contributionsNice focus point for a quick visit to BrusselsHad a few hours stop-over in Brussels so got the train into town and did a self-guided tour of some of the sights and chocolate shops, frites shops, waffles shops and bar. All within about 3 minutes walk of the Mannekin Pis. It was great fun, and if you're there early enough (9am?), you can get a great picture of the statue before it's too busy.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 July 2023
- Haup88Charlotte, North Carolina196 contributionsWhy wouldn’t you go..Short walk from the Grand Palace down a cobblestone street lined with shops. It’s a statue of o boy pis’ ing. Was disappointed that he wasn’t dressed up. We all had fun taking pictures of him peeing on our heads.. we are those people!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 July 2023
- VinnieLondonDoha, Qatar11,805 contributionsIt’s smaller than you imagine 😁The famous peeing boy located few minutes walk from the Grand Place. The fountain is on a street corner and you could easily miss but worth a quick stop to see the iconic little man. Bizarrely around the corner is a museum with him in a multitude of different outfits.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 5 August 2023

We just had to go see it while in Brussels. If you are visiting the Grand Place (if in Brussels it's a must) then this is not out of the way. It is in the area of the Grand Place and is easy to find (follow crowd usually). It is an interesting statue/fountain and a cute little niche item for Brussels. I recommend the statue souvenir you can find everywhere (I got one LOL). took a few photos and checked it off the bucket list.

It’s not going to blow your socks off as it’s just a small statue of a boy having a pee! It is what it is, a fun little tourist attraction that you might as well get a pic of if you’re in Brussels.

Very big tourist trap but nevertheless interesting to go and see. When we went it was surrounded by tourists and tour groups but you could still get a good view of it. Plus you have to go and see it when in Brussels really.

This is one of the things you have to see when you are in Brussels.
You could tell you were getting close because of all the crowds.
He was wearing a little red suit when we saw him.

This was an unusual one. Definitely worth the visit as a thing to do in Brussels but be prepared to be slightly underwhelmed. Photo opportunity at the best.

Don't let the TripAdvisor photo confuse you, this is a super small statue. It may be an icon of Brussels but is truly not a must-see.

This may be the most famous landmark in Brussels but I don't really see the fuss about it. Firstly, it's tiny! For all the hubbub about it, it's pretty underwhelming.

Hoping someone can answer this - we’re just about to go next week and staying 2 min away from Mannequin Pis going by Eurostar - which is the best station to get off at (closest to) Rue de Midi (the hotel is on) and 2 mins from Mannequin Pis please
Samantha

Hiya the Eurostar is based in Brussels Midi and you will need to take a train from Midi to Central. Don’t worry it’s very easy as most trains stop in Central. My advice is to buy a ticket to central from one of the machines and then look on the board and jump on the first train that you see that has central on its list. Be careful with the platforms as some trains split so take note of which carriages are going where. From central it is around a 7 minute walk to the statue. The journey is a lot easier than it may feel right now

Can we go diving on the bar reef from here? How long is the journey car/boat ride to the reef? Would we need to book with a dive company in advance?
(December visit)
Many thanks
