Grand-Place is an iconic example of Belgian/Flemish architecture of the middle ages. It serves as the heart of the city and many cultural events are held throughout the year.

It is truly a step back in time, very grand. Lots of great restaurants around and shopping for almost anything. We got chocolates, 8 boxes for 12$ which were very yummy.

It was another historic building not to be missed in Europe. Just in the centre of the city. Better walk to get there or take the tram, the train ticket machine only received coins and cards with PIN, nobody in the metro station. One way is 2 € and daily is 6 €. Really. It is. Suberb architecture. It's not like those huge squares from Paris, it's pretty small. But it really is an amazing site.
