Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We quite like Galerie Ravenstein, especially the atrium with its high concrete and glass cupola and the majestic staircase leading to Horta’s Palais des Beaux-Arts in the upper town. Sadly enough, the modernist Galerie Ravenstein, built as a covered shopping mall by architects Alexis and Philippe Dumont in the mid-1950s, seems to have lost its original purpose and lustre these days. Most of the shops, restaurants, and cafés are gone; there are only a few businesses left. So, if it’s a shopping experience you are after, you will have to look elsewhere. But the gallery is still a pleasant shortcut between the Bruxelles Midi railway station and the upper town. The porches on both sides are worth a look.

Galerie Ravenstein is a 1950s era shopping arcade and office complex near Brussels Central Station. There is some interesting architecture and artwork around the two entrances.

Within there are a small range of retailers, casual eateries and other shops. Otherwise, this now seems to be mostly a pedestrian passageway between Upper Town and Lower Town.

For tourists, a quick look/pass through if you are in the area is enough. Save your shopping time for more interesting and impressive Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert if interested in this type experience while in Brussels.

Constructed in 1958 and renovated in 2006 the Ravenstein Gallery is an example of the 'international style' in architecture. Although esthetically a pleasing gallery and a convenient free pedestrian passage from Brussel Central Station to Bozar, these days the amount of occupied shops is small compared to the size of the gallery. These days the gallery is more convenient as a pedestrian passage than as a shopping venue.

I rate 5 stars for the shop Artisans sans carbone ... Great recycling shop artcratfs. Such modern, beautiful items I loved mostly those made with old tyres, and inner tubes. Bit expensive fir my purse but worth it : solid, recycling, beautiful, creative . The creator Italian artman was here to welcome us, so friendly , we talked so long. He gives his time to visitors, clients if so with great pleasure, share his work ... Nice guy . The gallery itself is not much interesting in term of architecture as the style after war in the 50s was not rich but utile . The glass coupole is ok but not rare and special . A good galery to escape endless rain of December and January lol

I found this mall quiet and pleasant. The structure is beautiful, and it has several small shops and offices. I crossed through, finding a nice route from the Central Station to the Brussels Park.

This place seemed to have a charm when I visited some years ago. Now it's just nothing here. Some handful shops and that too with nothing great and some food joints. The architecture is old and good but there's time for everything. They should now have a makeover of this place completely or else run it down and build something new here.

Never quite worked out what this place is supposed to be. It always seems half-finished with several closed shop units.

Galerie Ravenstein is a small shopping centre close to Brussels Central station and right on Mont Des Arts. There aren't actually that many shops here and on the ground floor it seems to be mostly food places. Interestingly there's a tourist office inside that's focused on chidrens activities and some offices for local services.

I know there are quite negative reviews - missing the point in my opinion. This is not a shopping mall, this is a piece of architecture from the 50's and it has its merits. Worth checking out when in the vicinity.
