About
At Maison Dandoy, your senses will twinkle and dance with oven-fresh biscuits rich in flavor, sweet in scent and capricious in figure. All our guilty pleasures are handmade in the Brussels' atelier, with 100% natural ingredients just like our great-great-great grandfather did 180 years or so ago.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really cute shop with lots of delicious biscuits!
Smelt lovely and we made a purchase or 2.
Not cheap - but tasty and fresh.
Would make good gifts too.

Scrumptious waffles ever! They have two options. I chose the light and crispy type which were the Belgian waffles. I tried maple syrup with vanilla ice cream. OMG! It was super yummy. I went the second time and ordered another toppings, cooked strawberries with whipped cream. It was ok but too sweet for my liking. Hands down to the maple syrup+vanilla ice cream!

Maison Dandoy is a Speculoos cookie specialist with a history that dates back to 1829. They have a handful of branches around Brussels including this place along Rue au Beurre near Grand Palace. Opening hours are 10am to 7pm daily.
We stopped by during a recent visit to Brussels and picked up a bag of speculoos biscuits to enjoy in our hotel room. Enjoyed the plain, covered with dark chocolate and the pain d'amandes as well. These were all good to have with a cup of coffee back in our home.
Have enjoyed Dandoy purchases during the past couple trips through Brussels. Will very likely stop here again during future visits to the city to enjoy their speculoos biscuits.

Yes their products are good, sometimes delicious like their sablés, perhaps a touch too sweet with excessive sugar coating that should be corrected.
The sad reality is that everything is done to rip you off. Down to the very detail.
Try and buy a box of sablés, a house speciality.
At €9 a box of 120g you are paying those biscuits €75/kg. A monstrous amount for any biscuit. So how do they fool you into buying them?
The box box itself is a well designed fraud: you see the biscuits through the box clear window and assume that all the part above the window (the other half of the large sized box) is full of biscuits. Only when you open you discover that the contents actually neatly terminate at the top of the see-through window and that the rest of the box is totally empty! You have just bought a big sized box, half full of outrageously expensive biscuits!
This has been neatly designed to fool you as they could easily fit 3 times that amount of biscuits in the pack. Forget about the weight being clearly displayed, 120g is also a measure designed to prevent easy multiplication.
This makes Dandoy a very clever firm that fools clients into paying ridiculous prices for cookies.
No wonder they target mostly tourists (airports, Grand Place, etc.) rather that Belgian customers, the former are less likely to ever return to complain.

Plenty of places to get waffles but we chose here MD is a chain and there are a number of outlets around the city
Lots of different toppings and combinations depending how much you want to indulge
A little on the pricy side for the Brits but had to be done and tried

Totally the best waffles you can get in Brussels! Definitely try the following combination: Brussels waffle, chocolate sauce, pecan nuts and strawberry ice cream. HEAVEN ON EARTH!
For a fancy experience, try Maison Dandoy Gallery.

It was on the pricier side but I can definitely see why! Best waffles I've had during my stay in Belgium. The liege one is to die for! Coffee was also delicious, the staff were very nice and the views are worth it.

This was THE experience I’m taking away from Brussels. Like waffles? Look nowhere else.
It was recommended by my tour guide and we decided to explore it.
Although the prices are on higher side but the experience is worth every penny. The quality is impeccable. The icecream flavours are limited but boy they’re awesome.
Full marks for hygiene, taste, quality and hospitality.

It was visiting the establishment for the first time because my friend told me it was the best place to eat Brussels waffle. The super rude attendant (the bald man) treated me super badly, since the first time I said I didn't understand what he said (in English). After it, the other attendant, when he went to complete my order, asked for the flavor of the ice cream and I said strawberry based on the flavors they had on the board. Then the second attendant asked him about the strawberry flavor and the bald attendant started to speak rude things in French, imagining that I would not understand in French, to say that it was only the flavors that were in front of me. If you are not happy at work, please look for another one, but don't treat your customers badly. I will not be returning to this establishment even though I have a good waffle.
