Nice place to visit. But we had one complain - there isn't enough information. Sometimes you had to guess what this room used to be. We told the lady in the entrance this tip to improve in the future and she said she heard it from other tourists too. But like i said - a should be visited place -... More

Great castle to walk around in the city center. You also get a nice view of the 3 towers. Although I wasn't a fan of the torture exhibit. More

I'm not into scary details of the castles or excited by torture chambers but this castle really does give a good impression of how and what was it used for. In a rather informative and not too tiring way. You can spend as much time as you need there, with nobody rushing you. More

Located in the heart of historic Ghent, the castle is is an interesting and enjoyable place to visit. First, the fact that it is smaller and better maintained that other castles I have visited makes it easy to visit. Secondly, the tour is well designed. The unique audio movie tour is designed to give the visitor a feel for how... More

This is a great example of a defensive castle from the ancient times. It has been used for various purposes over the centuries but has been restored to a proper classic castle. Nice collection of torture items from the city prison. Makes you wonder how we can be so horrible to our fellow men. More

The castle of the counts, Gravensteen Castle, is a must do in the city of Gent. The cost is very reasonable, students are free, adults are €8 and includes an iPod touch style audio movie that you can view in each room of the castle. All 15 stops on the tour have signs in English as well as Dutch and... More

Lots to see here including a large room filled with weapons of the time, torture tools, etc. Be prepared for lots of steps but if you take your time, you'll enjoy the view and all the work that must have gone into building the castle. Very interesting. More
