This building is under restoration. Some sections are clearly old and others new. This is particularly evident in the crypt; only partially below ground, where medieval artwork is roped off and new paint can be seen on other walls. Even if you're not that into fine art, you should go and see this painting - The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by Van Eyck- in St. Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent.
