The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb is in itself worth a visit to Ghent, let alone the cathedral. Be sure to pick up an audioguide which explains each panel of the altarpiece in detail. More

A hand-held device talks you through one of the world's greatest treasures ,at your own pace;you can listen to saturation point about the Van Eyck brothers and the Middle Ages, as my wife did, or just study one panel with a mind to returning one day. The work is huge, and so is the crowd - my tip would be... More

You can obviously find Van Eyke's painting here but you should also see the beautiful Rubens' ''Saint Bavo enters the Convent at Ghent''. We paid I think EUR4,00 to see the ''The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb'' where you also receive an audio guide but for me the best part was actually enjoying the rest of the cathedral. We actually... Awe- inspiring to walk around, with many beautiful works of art by Rubens and others. On a beautiful square with St-Nicklaas directly across. More

There were several tour groups there while we visited so we had difficulty taking our time but the art and archetecture were outstanding. They don't allow picture taking inside the cathedral but it's well worth a visit. More

You will never spend a better 4 Euros in Belgium than when you buy a ticket to go in the side altar on the left and spend half an hour examining "The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb." You will be provided with an audio guide in the language of your choice and your "guide" will talk you through each panel... More

You cannot visit Gent and NOT see the cathedral with the amazing Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. You pay to see this famous altarpiece and it might be a bit cramped but it is worth it.There is plenty to see apart from this in the cathedral which is free to enter. More
