The architecture is nice but there are much nicer Oud Markts elsewhere in Belgium, including Brussels, of course. Leuven is a very ancien university and has kept its student traditions. It's such a traditional place.... each bar has their outdoor seating, where people meet and chat with each other, letting the afternoon hours pass with flowing pints of Belgian beer, laughter and pure architectual beauty and history. More

We visited this area some years ago during the summer and it was better since you could feel the relaxing outside atmosphere and sit to drink something outside the cafes. More

Not sure that I would recommend eating here (our one meal here was ordinary) but it is a good place to sit in the sun and enjoy a late afternoon beer More
