To go up 360 steps cost 8 Euro each. Same way up as down so great if no big crowd. There was a craft fair/sale in halls, when we were there which was nice to walk round. more

I climbed to the top of the tower (366 steps) with my kids and found the views to be great. The steps get progressively more difficult the higher you go, with the last 20 steps being almost a ladder. Don't do it if you are claustraphobic or tire easy. Good thing there are a few areas to stop on the... more

It's no picnic climbing those stairs, but it's worth it. I can get a little claustrophobic at times, so I had some concerns, but I had no trouble once I was there. The rooms interspersed along the way are very helpful if you need to stop for a cardiovascular break, or just some air. On the way up, I needed... more

The belfry is located just off the Markt. It is accessed via a courtyard where we were hit by a pungent odour. It had a sewerage smell about it but no one else seemed to be bothered by it. The climb is 366 steps and quickly turns into a narrow winding staircase. It got crowded at times pulling over to... more

There are a lot of stairs (300+) and in the last section it does get rather thin and the steps are smaller, but it is worth it. It was great to see Bruges from above. We even got to sample how the bells sound close up as whilst we were at the top they started to chime. Certainly made us... more

This 13th century Belfort offers a great view of the city. Hearing the bells when you're at the top is quite an experience and climbing the 300+ stairs is a workout but well worth it. When we finished our climb, we walked out to a morning market where we bought some rolls and goat cheese for lunch. What a great... more

While getting to the top is a bit of an effort, once you have climbed all 366 steps the view is completely worth it! You can see the entire town from up there. Although take a jacket - its freezing that high up! The stairs getting up are very narrow though, and when you have to pass another person its... more

There are lots of stairs, 360 I believe. I don't mind stairs, and the actual distance is not a problem. What I did not like so much was the condition of the stairs and the climb. it is a winding staircase all the way up, and visitors are ascending and descending at the same time with some steps barely large... more

A visit to Bruges is indispensible for those visiting Brussels, and a visit to the Belfort is indispensible for those visiting Bruges. The Belfort is the tall building in the corner when you get to the Markt, the touristy center of Bruges. A walk up to the top will provide beautiful panoramic views of Bruges, with orange slated roofs all... more

The Belfort (Bell tower): only 70 people are allowed up the thing at once, so one needs to catch a quiet moment. A strenuous 366 step climb up a circular staircase brings one right up to the clockwork and cogwheels of the Carillon (Glockenspiel). Greenpark was decidedly out of puff. The Carillon is interesting: no pianola rolls here, but a... more
