We popped into the Enlish Theatre of Bruges on a rainy afternoon. We were not sure what to expect for 5 euro. The one man show was a fab potted journey through the history of bruges. It was a funny (very UK orientated), informative and witty show. I would say well worth the entrance fee and it is only a... more

While in Bruges we stumbled across the show 'Bruges Abridged', and it was a joy. A brilliantly witty parody of a tour of Bruges, the show was performed wonderfully by a very talented comic actor, and had me and my family in stitches throughout. We revisited the show twice, and it turned out to be the unexpected highlight of our... more

This was a great show. Very lively, entertaining and very funny. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it is definitely worth going to see. For only 5 euros you are guaranteed to be entertained. I would recommend this attraction if you are visiting Bruges. more

The English Theatre of Bruges is based in a beautiful little square, and is a charming old building, featuring an English bookshop (with lovely trompe l'oeil painted panels) in addition to a theatre space. Clare Allen runs the enterprise and sources a great selection of books, as well as programming the theatre with carefully chosen English shows. The theatre is... more

You'd probably have to be British to appreciate this. I loved it. Very eccentric. An entertaining half hour, and do remember, it's not serious! One of the reviewers on here obviously just didn't get it!! more

franklark@blueyonder.co.uk I must admit I only went in because I was exhausted after hoofing round Bruges all day - five euros what's to lose?Anyway I found myself charmed and amused as well as rested. It's a quirky funny take on the many charms and foibles of Bruges and a great way to end a day's sightseeing more

I was born in Bruges, but live in Aalter (on the border between East- and West-Flanders). As a retired English teacher I am thrilled that this charming theatre is another occasion for me to stay in contact with live English whilst I enjoy first class theatre productions. I've told my former colleagues about the theatre and some of them have... more

Unlike the previous reviewers I found this half hour show amateurish. The film, on which your tour of Bruges is based is of poor quality, the commentary is as much about Liverpool as Bruges. The humour was sparse and I was grateful the show was only 30 minutes. more

Hello everyone! I just wanted to post a comment about this review. Obviously we are incredibly disappointed to have an unhappy customer and we will certainly take his comments on board. As our other reviews show, practically all of our customers thoroughly enjoy the production. It is very, very rare that a person doesn't enjoy the show, but, with comedy,...

This can easily be overlooked which may explain why there was only a small audience for what proved to be a witty, affectionate,light-hearted view of Bruges. The "tour" took in all the well known attractions from an original perspective thanks to an amusing script and a very talented guide who led us with humour for half an hour. Well worth five... more

My girlfriend and I went to see this show - Bruges Abridged! - in July 2009. It was fantastic. It's basically a show all about the different attractions of Bruges, with a virtual tour of the city, historical background, and some presentations of chocolate or lace making, but it's all performed by a really funny character who has his own... more
