This chapel was built directly across the Hooge Crater cemetery in memory of the many fallen soldiers on the battle fields of ‘Hooge’ over a period of 4 years. Rare military clothing of the troops, that where fighting in the ‘Ypres Salient’ (Ieperboog) are exposed in glass displays. Also you can see some full scale scenes of the Great War battle fields, very authentically reproduced. The theme of the scenes is very divers: German bunkers, British trenches and full scale horses with cavalry troops on their backs. « less

A private collection, maintained by a family who care. So much so that several people have entrusted their medals, photos and memories to them. Great visit/food deals on offer and very reasonable prices. More

The museum is well worth a visit and was reasonable to get in. A wide range of photos, uniforms and artefacts were on display and there is a decent cafe attached too. More

An enjoyable/moving tribute to those who lost their lives in this area. Gives a good account of what "life and death" were like in Flanders. The cemetery is a must. More

lots of information but when you leave look left and have a look at the actual crater in the hotel next to the museum, pay a few euros to walk round the crater. Good museum with lots of information More
