The castle may be mostly empty, but it is picturesque and did have a tower that you could climb. There were also a number of rooms and windows to look through. No admission fees, and the local tourism office is inside the walls. Very impressed with the public washroom facilities compared to here in Canada.

You don't get much castle but then it's free! Beja castle is an upright affair with a small base, rather like many Irish castles. There is a small courtyard where you enter the castle. The door should be open during stated opening hours. A lady came from one of the enclosed buildings and opened it for me! Go up some...
