Creepy, interesting and worth a peek. It is only one euro and a very interesting story. Definitely too bad that it has been defiled with many broken or missing skulls. Check out the bone laden walls, it definitely has a variety of head, shoulder, knees and toes... knees and toes... :)

This is not a huge place, and it doesn't take long to tour, but it is really interesting and definitely worth a look.

It's a small interior chapel from the 16th century located next to the entrance to the Church of St.Francis. The chapel gets its name from the interior walls that are covered with human skulls and bones. There is a famous warning at the entrance: "We, the bones that are here, await yours". There are about 5,000 skeletons of monks coming... More

I suppose it was what it said it was but I'd hoped for more in terms of information, things to see, it was a bit spooky.

It costs one euro to visit, but it is quite a moving experience. anywhere else in the world would be charging far more. Amazingly there is no-one guarding the bones, and sadly all of the skulls from the outdoor shrine have been damaged. But the indoor shrine is astounding. The beggars on the step are offputting, and having stayed in... More

To visit the chapel it was first of all necessary to get past the numerous beggars occupying the steps and the lobby to the church. The chapel is actually quite disgusting. I visited out of curiosity but the chapel is quite horrible, built out of hundreds of skulls. I was more interested in the shy little cat who was wandering... More

well worth the 5 minutes it takes to see this ghoulish chapel and the church in which it's situated. It only costs 1 euro and is in town so why not?

A really unusual attraction like nothing I had ever seen before. It takes a while to realise that you are looking at real human skulls all around you and it is quite haunting.
