Cathedral,museum,cobbled streets,plenty of good restaurants.We did several walks round the old town. Wear sensible shoes! More

Fly to Faro .. get car and drive away .. 2 weeks later drive to the Airport Fly home. It was a few days into my trip before I explored the town I was actually staying in. That was something of a shame, as Faro has as much to offer as Lagos or Silves. In fact, despite several outings on foot, I never really felt I had exhausted the possibilities. More

Beautifully restored area surrounding the Cathedral, all painted white (why?), no colour, not much sign of life, no children, no people (other than office workers and visitors), no shops.... a bit of a dead space (was the same on last visit two years ago at different time of year). More

Such a tranquil and beautiful place. Leave a little time before dropping off the rental car at Faro Airport to visit. More

old town is really nice and tidy with a lot of restaurants and shops. close to marina. Its easy to relaxing. More

The ancient walled city is very well preserved, although a little quiet. Strolling around here both by day and night is highly recommended. Try to peep inside the cathedral on Sundays or other times when it is open. The museum here is wonderful More
