I remember when the hotel rep mentioned a free trip to faro. Well I was sceptical, no such thing as a free lunch eh? Anyway, A few travellers were going and we had to sit through a 2 hour long discussion about lamb woll bedding and clothing which was reasonably pleasant and enjoyed a free drink and trip into faro... more

Faro Old Town (Cidade Velha) is compact, enclosed by the old Town walls, and located within easy walking distance of the harbour and bus and train stations.
