If the weather permits and the fog takes a break try to check this wonderful natural spot, inside an ancient volcano where you can find two conjoined lagoons. 100% natural and breathtaking views. More

Mist can ruin the view, but on a clear day you can see two seas and a lake........ and the road just adds to the fun........ but if you are driving keep your eyes on the road. there are plenty of viewing spots More

Mist, mist and more mist can completely spoil any view from above. The lakes are fine, but not particularly memorable, and the village is boring. More

Catch the bus from Delgada appox 1hr. Go to the tourist info office in the street on the right ahead of where the bus stops. Make sure you know the times of return buses. Walk down the same road and at the T-junction turn right. You'll come to the bridge that separates both lakes. There's a coupe of stone pillars... More

Spectacular views of the crater lakes - take a taxi and they will give you a tour of the lakes nearby as well. Works out a lot cheaper if 4 share the taxi. More

If there is one tour you need to do in Sao Miguel, I recommend seeing the Lagoa do Fogo in Sete Cidades. This is a lake with turquoise and green water surrounded by vegetation. Lagoa do Fogo means Lake of Fire and is in the central of the mountain formed during a volcanic eruption. If the weather is nice, it... More
