The time I went here was during the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Thousands of people came, and it was such an amazing experience. Inside the basilica is very historical, as the "three little shepherds" lay there. Such a calming experience. From the main basilica, you can overlook the new church across, and boy it is a fantastic view.... More

If not crowdy you feel you are in heaven. Very nice place to meditate. The Basilica is rich in art observe each piece of art. go to the altar where Jacinta Francisco and Lucia are buried you will feel they are still alive. See the candle procession Saturday night at 11 pm you will never forget. See the Good bye... More

There are loads of trips to Fatima with tour groups but I felt it was better to get the express bus from Jardim Zoologica which took 1.5 hrs and when you got thereyou could spend as much or as little time as you wanted.Go to the information office and Patricia will tell you all about the place and where to... I think if going to Fatima, it's only normal you visit the shrine. But it's also worthwhile to go to Valinhos and Aljustrel (small village where the children lived). More

Day visit to the Basilica is worth-while if one is inclined towards such sites. Easily accessible from Lisbon by coach (Rede Express.) In Lisbon, we got to metro station - Jardim Zoologica, went past the local bus station & across busy lanes to get to the Rede Express station! I'm sure there' s a sub-way that we missed! The coach...
