am really glad we made the effort to go to cristo rei - on paper it sounded like a trek, but it was actually very easy to get to. we went in the afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. there was a massive rush for the ferry from cais do sodre to cacilhas but there were still seats for everyone... More

You cant not go up the statue while your here, its like going to Blackpool or Paris and not going up the tower. Its not in the most affluent area of Lisbon.but the views are stunning, I would love to go up the one in Brazil, thats on the agenda for the next couple of years. More

We took the ferry from Lisbon to the other side of the river,walked along the river(which was a bit run down and derelict and stinky at times) to the elevator that is visible near the bridge.We were not sure if the elevator was working but we pressed a button and it seemed to whir into life,but when you let go... More

This place must be seen!!!!!!!!!!!! The road to Cristo Rei is amazing by itself but once yo u get there, you are in a different place, breathtaking, amazing and absolutely must be done. Don't forget a small chapel and a view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More

dont take the tour ...go to the river ...take the ferry ...then the local bus......wander around the area...the view is amazing.also some nice local spots a little way from the area More
