It's an OK thing to do if you like that kind of stuff. But not really that big of a deal. Great views of the city and that's about it. If you do go, make sure you take in the panoramic tour from the tower. It is offered in several languages and is included in your admission price. More

This summer there is a fantastic cinema and light show on in the evenings. The show is wonderful and is produced extremely cleverly. It gives you a great insight into how Lisbon was established. It's an open air screening in the fort of the castle of St. George. However, here's a big tip don't bother with the 'taste of Lisbon'... More

Walk up from the city and walk around to the entrance - then explore the many aspects of the castle. We liked everything about our experience here - including the wonderful food available just outside the walks of the castle More

I liked this castle but as we were travelling with my father in law perhaps walking up was not the best idea. The castle is a bit tricky for those with walking difficulties but the views are delicious. We got the tram down to Liberty Square? The one with Rossi Metro station, tram and bus stops. We should have got it... More

There is a bus service up to the Castelo but we decided to walk up from near the Sé (Cathedral) - it's a heck of a climb but well worth it! Tickets for the Castelo are €7 - expect to queue at the ticket office as there are only two tills. The entrance to the Castelo is another small climb... More

We took the train to get to the Castle and this in itself was fun as the streets are very narrow and twisting. The walk round the Castle walls (there is not much left of the castle unfortunately) was pleasant as were the gardens around it and the views of Lisbon were stunning. More

Wonderful experience, worth the 7eu entry fee for the views alone regardless of the castles historical value. Walk around the perimetre and take in the views from all directions across the Lisbon city, broader region, water areas etc. Well worth it. More
