i dun think anyone can visit lisbon and miss rossio square as it's where everything spans out from - the happening rua augusta, the transport hub, the cafes and shops and also the lovely cobblestones and monuments on the square itself. it's the first place we arrived at coming on the aerobus as we had to catch a metro to... Rossio Square is right in the middle of the city and it's the preferred meeting place for locals and tourists alike. Wine tasting and music festivals are also held here, as well as public demonstrations etc. It's the heart of Lisbon and a must-see attraction. More

Rossio Square is beautiful with its cobblestone paving and nice architecture. While there wasn't a lot to actually do in the area (well, shopping and eating, I suppose), it is worth passing through to see. More

Rossio Square's central location makes it a great place for people watching. The square is paved with cobblestones in wave patterns which is quite interesting. On either side of the square are two fountains and in the center is a monument with Dom Pedro IV on top. There are shops, restaurants and great little side-streets emanating off the main square.... Rossio Square is well worth a visit and chances are you will pass it if you are anywhere in Lisbon. This beautiful square is located in centre of old downtown and has been the main square for almost a thousand years. With the large open space, beautiful monuments and lovely fountains, it is no surprise the square still retains its... More

My husband and I stayed in a hotel in the Baxia district so when we left the room to sightsee, we would usually pass by picturesque Rossio Square. By day, it is beautiful, with the fountain and statues shimmering in the glint of the sun. We sat at a sidewalk table of Cafe Gelo one morning, taking in the atmosphere.... More

Coffee, cake, a nice table under an umbrella and people watch. Then watch the traffic. Then watch your own reactions! More

It is not possible to pass by this square. I do not think that it is something special, but you will surely walk through it during your walks around Lisbon. This square is full with some strange people who are asking money, playing guitars and some other musical instruments, selling sun glasses and all in all it is rather "messy"... More
