We arrived at Cafe Luso purely by accident while looking for a place to have a drink, some food and enjoy Fado music. Once seated we realised very quickly that we were in the wrong place for us. The restaurant is beautiful, very elegant and very well decorated. There are, however, a lot of tables pushed into a small space... More

The Fado music did not meet our expectation of soulful and sorrowful music but was mostly upbeat with dancing umpah processions! The little Fado that was done was ok. The dinner was terrible with the pasta dish not eaten but no comment from the wait staff upon removing the plates. Desserts were more sorrowful than the music and the outrageous... More

My wife and I took our 14 year old girl and were very pleased to find a very nice and quiet restaurant to enjoy Fado. The food and the service were good and the Fado extraordinary. May be a little expensive but that is expected since you are also paying for the show. More

Went there with Family in Portugal, including old and young. I decided to go there recommended by a few people. I wanted good quality fado and folklore. Atmosphere is fantastic, service was good. In fact, they gave us some good interpreters of fado, not all were good. I suggest, for the price they charge, they select more good fadistas... Folklore... More

Our concierge recommended this place. I think the hotel gets a commission. We arrived at 8:30, and the place was filled with several large groups of people brought by tour buses. The crowd was obnoxious, standing up repeatedly in fron to take a myriad of photos. The food sucked, the service was worse, and the price outrageous. The folk dancing... More

Fado music was great but the service and the staff were not efficient and very rude. We paid 6 Euros for water, 6 Euros for an apple juice, and coffee for 3.50 Euros, anything else on the menu was just too expensive. As we tried to leave, we were confronted with a 50 Euros bill! We were asked to pay... More

First of all, let me start by saying that the performers were awesome at Cafe Luso. The evening started out with a song and dance show; and as the night went on, tables were moved and the singers performed individually with a few instrumentalists for a more intimate experience. Very nice atmosphere and the performers really put their heart and... More

I feel very compelled to write this review b/c I take these reviews to heart whenever I travel. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were to have spent our last night in Lisbon here. We took the advice of a local who recommended Cafe Luso to us. We were out for our last night in Lisbon and wanted a... More

This is a tourist trap to be avoided. The food is beautifully presented, but microscopic in portion size, and the wines start at 40 euro a time. Our waiter split half of our bottle over me, did not offer a discount, more wine or an alternative shirt. The music and decor are good, but you can get much more for... More

Cafe Luso makes it's living catering to tourists who want a "Fado " experience. It is as genuine as the Flamingo dancers in Spain or Tarantela dancers in Italy. Is the food average at best? Yes. Is it gouging you to charge for each piece of bread and butter? Of course! Do you get packed in your seat elbow to... More
