Having walked up we thought we deserved a drink. The view was lovely and the wine was very good. It was well worth the effort although you can take the funicular. The view does help orientate yourself. I found it easy to get confused in the city but it never mattered as there was always something good to be seen. More

It's free and very accessible, right next to funicular. Great photo taking of hillside. Lots of park benches - would make for a nice quick picnic. Located at one end of Bairro Alto, it's a great starting point for a walk through this picturesque neighbourhood, which is a must-see, but this is not a worthwhile destination by itself. More
