This museum is perhaps the best one that we visited in all our time in Lisbon. Strangely, it isn't even mentioned in many of the guidebooks, and even people who have been to Lisbon many times have sometimes not heard of it. The quality of the collection is absolutely superb - Dr Gonçalves clearly collected only the very best pieces....

It's a small museum and for me the great value it´s the preservation of the house that was once the home studio of painter José Malhoa. Although it has a good collection of art to their exposure could be better.

This beautiful house / museum, belonged to the Portuguese collector Dr. anastácio Gonçalves, includes over two thousand works, from paintings to porcelain, furniture, jewelry, sculpture and textiles.
It's in the center of Lisbon, and although it is a little museum, it's full with great things to see.
