It's not to impressive once you've visited Versailles, Royal Palace in Madrid or even Palácio da Pena, in Sintra - it has few furniture, and some parts are in bad shape.
The library is astonishing, though.

In the isolation of the North of Lisbon , the Marquis of Pombal ordered the construction of this stupendous monument . Each of the 2 towers homes rows and rows of bells : Music by these ancient instruments can be savoured each sunday on every corner of Mafra and surroundings .
