We were staying at the Praia D'El Rey resort on the ocean but only about fifteen minutes away from the walled historic village. After a day visiting Fatima, windmills, Lisbon, or Sintra it was nice to return to the charming village of Obidos for dinner. Even in late August the crowds were down and we could always find a table.... more
Having read the previous review i decided to travel up for the day from Lisbon. After looking at all options i caught the bus from Campo Grande (6 euros) and 1 hour later was out side the walls. After going through the gate house which is nice in its self you enter the tiny streets all the houses are built... more
We stopped at Obidos while travelling northwards from Lisbon and I must say we were absolutely impressed by this small village. The oldest part of the town is bounded by Middle Age walls and you can actually visit the city by walking on them. Houses are built in typical Portuguese style along tiny little streets. I recommend to arrive there... more
