I'm not sure what drug the designer of this palace was on, but I hope he had as much fun as the visitors to his crazy creation. This place is trully bizarre. Pseudo moorish-arches, pink and yellow towers and turrets, a picture-book clock tower, stone sea monsters, gargoyles, dragons, golden cupolas and general hallucinogenic trippiness round every corner. Great fun.... More

The view from the cross is worth the climb. We spent 4 hours walking round and up and down and still missed half the park. More

We visited Pena Palace after visiting the Moorish Castle. The views are awesome as well as the interior. Do not miss the Chalet Condessa d' Edla when you are walking along the gardens! At the Chalet, don't miss the short film that shows the reconstruction work that was done at the Chalet More

The best bit of Pena Palace was walking through the footpaths of the park. They are extremely well maintained and just an oasis from the crowds in the palace. In March the smell of orange blossom was delicious. More

Was there in the end of Feb 2012. It is interesting park for everyone - take couple of hours to walk around and enjoy the smell of trees, grasses, fresh air. Could find a black swan there who seems to be rather hungry - take some bread with you. More

the former king (conquistador-time) ordered plants & trees from all continents, magnificent park to walk, you can walk from Sintra up on the mountain and enjoy the great nature (on hot days sometimes a tough walk) if you want to relax: there are quite often shuttlebusses, also available only for one way More
