guincho beaches are far to reach, only by car or taxi from cascais or sintra, nearer from cascais. My favorite Beach, not exactly Sintra but Cascais, though very near. Perfect to walk during the winter and ideal to get sunshine and surf in the summer. I'd consider it the most windy beach in the world, so just be aware :) More

We stopped there during our trip to Portugal in October 2010. We had heard so much about this beach that we were eager to see it for ourselves. It was a big disappointment however. It's probably a good beach for surfers, but I really like much, much better the beaches on the natural park of Arrábida or the one in... More

It's true , Guincho Beach is a stupendous Atlantic beach , oriented to the West , just below the mountain of Sintra . Most of the time it's a windy beach , and therefore an atraction for the Kitesurfers . More

We took a chance on a random recommendation and paid for a 1/2 hour taxi ride from Cascais to Praia do Guincho. We weren't dissapointed. Sunset here on the last day of a month long Europe trip was amazing. It's the type of beach where you can walk out really far and only be waist high. Wind surfers were everywhere,... More
