I visited Santana during a day-long mini-bus tour of eastern Madeira. I loved seeing the cottages and famous palheiro houses. But I would advise seeing it the same way: during a tour (small group tours are always better than larger ones, particularly in this case), because unless you know where you are going and where to stop for the best... more
