This Natural Park, probably the most well known in the country, is a really big one, and has tons of hikes you may choose. I personally reccomend the one which goes through Fenda da Calcedónia. This is a national park that you'll never forget! Unlike any other in the country and you can visit it a hundred times and never see the same thing. Plan ahead since some visitors have gotten lost in its immensity.

The first time we went here we had a car which is a necessity to really see the place. Bus services are few and inconvenient.

You can hike or drive through the vast park. Enjoy the small villages with ancient granaries and friendly people and look for Roman bridges.
Water sports are also available at some of the larger lakes\ reservoirs

We had only a short time in this beautiful woodland. The road needs a bit of maintenance in some parts but the views are magnificent. On a day that was quite hot before and after the park, it was cool, almost cold, due to the altitude. Plan a longer stay and do some trekking!
