If a cruise up the river Douro is your aim, then you can not get much better than the vessels of the French company CroisiEurope. The trip from Port to Barca d`Alva, on the border to Spain, and back takes a week. We have just got back after a marvellous trip. The cruise started with a guided tour of Porto,... More

there are multiple boat choices. all of them offer you a cruise with a short tour to a winery. The cruise lasts 50 minutes and the boat sails tthrough Duero river up to almost the sea. you can see 5 bridges and enjoy a different view of Porto. From my point of view, you can miss it, this cruise is... More

We took the Douro Nostalgico river cruise through Rota do Douro (the cruise company); you can find their tours at www.rotadodouro.pt. We met our guide at Sao Bento train station in Porto, and took the train from Porto to Regua. The train ride is scenic and relaxing, although not on a luxury train; its just a local train. It takes... More

100€/person for a day trip up the Douro river, from Regua to Barca de Alva, we had bad breakfast, lunch was even worse. Not enough stairs to stay out on the deck. Came back by bus and train during the evening, nothing to see anymore. A trip without any interesting activities besides eating badly and sightseeing. The views were fantastic... More

The tour is totally worth it. You can buy a Porto guide at Lello Library (which is a also nice place to visit, since it is gourgeous) and you get a discount at Douro Acima. There are different kinds of tours. On the website you can choose the one it suits you best. I took the Porto-Régua-Porto. I got the... More

Taking one of the 1 hour boat tours on the Douro in Porto, is just about one of the best things you can do in this beautiful city. The little boats take you on a tour up and down the Douro, between Porto and VN da Gaia, under 6 bridges. Seeing Porto from the water definitely gives you a better... More

We have just returned from a week on the Douro Spirit and the only problem was it wasn't long enough! The ship is beautiful and our stateroom had ample room for us to stow clothes, toiletries and suitcases and was kept spick and span by our lovely maid. The restaurant served a wonderful array of excellent food, lots of it... More

We took a day trip upstream. Our trip lasted from 08:30 until 15:00. We ended at Regua, then took a winery tour, then rode the train back to Porto. Nice day, great scenery. The service was good, but the food wasn't. The tour allowed us to go through two locks. It was really beautiful. Best to go with someone with... More

The ship, although brand new, is a design disaster. The common areas are more akin to a high school gymnasium than a luxury hotel.. Leaking ceilings in cabins and dining room and vacuum toilets which sometimes didn't work. Cabins with no room to utilize the HUGE TV and internet - which worked only when the ship was docked (at nights)... More

This 50 min trip goes under 5 (or possibly) 6 of the bridges that cross the Douro and give wonderful views of the town. Well worth the 10 euros. More
