Large building with a nice view from atop. Right next to the wonderful train station and close to the top level of the Luis bridge so you can take a look but not worth a special visit More

We tend to visit the cathedrals in most of the European cities that we visit and wee looking forward to seeing this one. It is relatievly small and desperately in need of renovation. It reflects badly on the city that they have paid so little attention to this historic cenral site whilst building very smart suberbs and concrete shopping centres. More

Compared to the Church of Santa Clara or the Sao Francisco church, the cathedral is rather spartan but also very beautiful. Do not miss the cloister: entire walls decorated with azulejos. We attended H.Mass on Good Friday. A very nice experience. More

Walk up the pathway to the Cathedral to see Porto in all its glory. Inside, the Cathedral is magnificent. A 5 minute walk from the Sao Bento Railway station. More

We happened to go on June 25, the Feast of St. James and the cathedral was so full that in order to get around inside you really had to squeeze between tightly pressed people. But we did witness the colorful procession of young and old as they left the cathedral after the service was completed. More

First glimps of the Douro river when standing on the large terrace in front of the Cathedral. Inside an interesting mixture of different styles. Fascinating descending through small streets and alleys, endless steps, surprising houses and as final reward: the river. Cathedral is beautifully illuminated all night! More

Stands stately at a top of a hill with views of the city and Duoro river. It's a huge cathedral, baroque interior, beautiful tile work. Loved the front doors. Would have loved to see a mass/event taking place here though. More
