Wandering down the steep streets of Porto old town, the Duoro river suddenly appears, spanned by the Ponte D. Luis I. Simply stunning at sunset and by night. More

The bridge has two levels. The views from the higher level are really stunning. You can visit it on foot or drive though in a tram. Really worth it. it's the main room to famous Port cellars. More

Those were the words in my head last time I crossed the upper platform of the bridge. Just like the 100 times before that. Superb engineering master piece, a postcard of the town with its perfect integration on the landscape. Built by Seyrig (not Eiffel!) and restored by Edgar Cardoso. Funny traps for the beer addicts on the first floor. More

Loved this bridge. Never got tired of looking at it and walked over it several times. The first time simply to experience the views from the top level. It's also quite beautiful at night. Take care walking on the lower level as there can be quite a bit of traffic and the sidewalk is a little narrow. More

... and fits right in, although it is so much newer than the rest of the monuments. If you cross it from Porto, you'll come to the Sandeman port cellars, and some other further down. More
