We used it to visit to Piraeus as well as to get to the ferries. If you're heading anywhere by boat, take ISAP (this is what it is called), cross the pedestrian overpass and take the free shuttle bus to your ferry terminal. Simple and cheap. More

For more than 130 years the “ILEKTRIKOS” as we call it, was the only public transportation in Athens in constant orbit. It was built on 1869 in order to connect Piraeus that is the main port of Greece with the capital. It runs on a ground line and only small parts are underground so you can have a sit and... More

Old building, a lot of crowd, beggars are standing everywhere. Last renovation improved the total icon, but this station needs more extensive renovation works. More

When getting on the train to Athens four men push my wife out of the way and surround me and try to rob me. One blocked my way, I was very lucky that I push him out of the way and caught him off balance. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK More

Unless you're catching a boat to the islands, there isn't much to see except a bunch of ferries. There are loads of western restaurants such as Pizza Hut & Dominoes if you need a fast food fix. The yacht club area or Marina Zeas is more interesting and where the beach and harbourfront seafood restaurants are. Unfortunately if you're on... More

Please beware that you will be scrutinised by gangs as you get on the train. We saw this happen to a couple of tourists and we were just lucky to be aware of these guys. Four men, one as spotter, will converge on an unsuspecting tourist (usually with big bags) and confine them in upright position from all sides. They... More
