We went there to have a coffee and swim in the lake but the water seemed not clean that day so did not get in.There were so many people that it was too much. More

You can take the Express E2 bus from Syntagma or bus 14/15 from Glyfada. This takes about 1 hr The Lake is supposed to be 22 degrees but it felt a lot colder than that, but still warmer than the sea. It has a passage to the sea but no one knows where. During winter time it is a heaven for people that have aches or just want to swim, There 5 or 6 degrees C. difference with the sea. It is hotter. It is thermal. More

The lake is actually the reason why the nearby city was named "Vouliagmeni", meaning sunken. Part of the hill has collapsed to allow the formation of a lake with seawater and enritched with health enhancing minerals. The lake on its own is not a huge area, and it will satisfy the hungry eye for the works of nature. But besides... More

Even if it is not listed among the musts to visit when in Athens, it is a place that you have to see. If you go in the evening it is even better as it is lighted. More

I have no idea how someone can get there without a car however if you happen to be around you should go for a swim. Drinks in the cafeteria are quite expensive though. More
