Of course this is one of the MUST-SEEs for any traveller. The structures leading up to the Parthenon are beautiful, and the site itself has been recently cleaned. Maintenance was pathetic, there were giagantic cranes inside it... I might as well have left my camera behind. In hindsight, I would have rather read about it than seen it. More

i love this place, so many people are visiting during the time that i was there. it was historical, i would suggest to read about the parthenon and the acropolis before going there so you will have a better understanding and appreciation of the place. More

You can't visit Athens without the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Such spectacular views and the signage is well done, although hiring a guide is a good choice. See my review of Athens Walking Tours--great option. More

we took a City Tour which included the Acropolis. The guide was knowledgeable but terrible. She made us feel like we were wasting her time and she had better things to do. The site itself was fantastic and the history lesson we received was great. More
