This is a beautiful gallery. It's not as big as some galleries abroad (about 3 floors) but it has some beautiful paintings that have been very influential in Greek culture (Greek kids will recognize many of them from their school books!). Not on the typical tourist path, but nowadays easily accessible via the beautiful modern subway (Evangalismos station), the National Gallery is a wonderful treat.
