Omonoia is the center of Athens, and you will probably be there, due to the fact that is a crossroad but also the cross of the Metro Rail (Subway). This place, has many important shopping centers and fast-foods and many of old Athens Hotels. It has been in a lifetime, re-construction, as it has been demolished and remade many times.... more

Omonia metro station, I found out after the fact, is very popular with pickpockets. Zippered pockets do not pose an obstacle to the thieves either. Be very aware of what is going on around you. Although the hotel in itself is not bad, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel staff is friendly, the neighborhood is the worst I have ever visited.
