There is nothing more refreshing in Athens than catching a live performance (music, opera, tragedy etc) at Herodeum on a summer night. Just under the Acropolis rock, with superb acoustic and relatively democratic prices. Highly recommended! More

This was one of the first stops on the way up to the Acropolis. The Odeum was beautifully reconstructed. Most of it was fenced off to keep people safe, but the view from above tells it all. More

I am sure that for those fortunate enough to attend a performance here during the annual Festival of Athens each summer, it must be a wonderful experience. Yet for the hundreds of thousands of others (like our family) who visit the Acropolis annually, access is denied. In spite of the rather hefty price for the “special ticket package” for the... More

The prime Roman-Hellenistic monument in Athens, carefully maintained because it houses the Festival of Athens. Try and catch a performance. If it's a tragedy performed in Greek, read the English translation before you go and take the text with you. But by all means, go! More

Come in summer and u might appreciate this theater more than just a monument. Plays and drama runs during the summer but it's still a magnificent piece of architectural to admire. You couldn't miss it while visiting the acropolis . More

We went to a show. The acoustic is excellent. The price was not high, the place is an ornament itself and when you seat in the theater you feel the energy! More

I hope that when they finish restorations they will allow people to enter the Odeum ... or host musical performances or something! The site is phenomenal, the archetecture amazing both inside and out. More

This place would be more popular and impressive if it were not near the accropolis or the Ancient Agora. Still impressive. More

The restoration has been so well done, you can practically hear the roar of the crowd. Downside is you can't get in to look around, only take photos from Acropolis or from outside. they do hold concerts there, so check the website before you go. More

If you happen to be in Athens during a concert night, give it a go, especially if a popular Greek artist is performing. It will be a memorable experience, and the view behind the stage is amazing! More
