Looking through the railings we saw a few columns lying on the ground which looked like left over from Parthenon. To all intents and purposes this is open space, a park, with a pile of columns and it... More

Before visiting this place, the literature, the word of mouth and other media give you a big hype about this place ( one of the Ancient Wonders of the World etc.,, ). After visiting Acropolis, if you go to this place, one can get a feeling of a great school foot ball ground where there are few pillars located in... More

It’s big... and that’s about all you can say about it having walked around the few remaining pillars of the temple in less than ten minutes. Standing in the middle of a sterile open space it lacks context. Where is the scale model or artist rendering to show visitors what the temple would have looked like; the site plan indicating... Although only a few columns still stand, it was an awesome site to visit. You can only imagine how magnificant the temple was centuries ago. More

The pillars are 17mtrs high & took 700 yrs to finish.... That is commitment. It is part of the €12 Acropolis ticket and can be seen from there. It's only a 10 min walk from the Acropolis museum and is well worth it. More
