Walked up Mt. Lycabettus this evening and found the walk to be relatively easy (it's Feb., so temperature was not a problem). It's great place to see Athens especially when you go at sunset you will enjoy the lookout, you can see the Acropolis, stadium, temple of Olympian Zeus, and many attractions from the top. Mt. Lycabettus is definately something which can be missed. To go to the top you have to ride a funicular - - However, in the funicular there is no view to enjoy. The top of the mountain is nothing amazing, as well. You got similar, if not better views from other spots. more

it was very nice to reach the top of the lycabettus...with the funicular! ;-) not on foot...to long and too hot! the funicular passes into the mountain so no view but when you'll arrive at the top the landscapes is brilliant!!!!!!!! nice church, nice quite place if you don't go in the "peak tourist hours" great landscapes...from there you can... more
