Fiscal austerity coupled with poor management have taken their toll, and these once formidable green oasis is in a state of ruin and destitute. The place is still intrinsically good for a walk, but a lot of work needs to be done to reestablish its long-lost charm. More

A nice place for a stroll, shady and not busy. Lots of benches - good for a picnic. There is a good kid's playground as well, for ages up to about 10. A good but pricey cafe completes the picture - plus terrible toilets. More

I enjoyed a Sunday morning walk in the park. You can stroll around, have a pick nick, feed the animals. A goat had just given birth to a baby goat it was really sweet seeing the little baby! I didn't like the fact that it's a little run down and the animals are mostly taken care by volunteers, however, the whole situation in Greece... More

This is the lungs of Athens. A place to get out of the heat in Summer, and the smog at any time of the year. A beautiful park attached to the parliament, that was once the royal Palace and Gardens. Walk through here on your way back from or on your way to the Temple of Olymipian zeus. More

Used to be the garden of the palace(now the parliament) Financial melt down does not allow for proper maintainance. It can still be a very nice cool place in the heat of Athenian summer More

It is a green paradise within city from concrete and stone. A real cool shelter during very hot summer. Children will be extremely happy with the animals and birds there. More

This was another great find. Free entry and really beautiful to meander along the pathways. On our vist we had beautiful sushine through the trees which made it even more peaceful and relaxing. Lovely orange trees, small waterfalls and little zoo, worth a trip. Lovely to do something different in a city of ancient historic sights More
