Others have written about the collection. It is spectacular, particularly the Karyatids and the friezes. The architecture is something else. The new museum is an architectural wonder in itself. Displays of many periods Greek sculpture in a spacious setting. There is a fine restaurant in the museum. Entrance fee is 1 euro, a great bargain. Fee may go up to 5 euros in Jan 2010. No photography allowed inside the museum, however the view from the second floor outside cafe is great. Wow - one of those places you would visit just to see the building itself never mind its mind-blowing exhibits. Take a moment to watch visitors when they realise they are walking on a glass floor above an exposed ruins even before they go in - priceless!
