The acropolis museum is housed in a modern building near the acropolis. It sits over excavation of an ancient settlement which can be viewed through the transparent flooring as you enter the museum. Inside, one can see the original artifacts and pieces taken from the acropolis . They also showed how these artifacts are being cleaned by the use of... More

This museum is excellent for the Acropolis and provides a brilliant history of the area. The staff constantly yelling no photo, no photo is disconcerting though as is the glass floors as you walk up (girls crossing the floor beware!!). The cafe is a good place to rest but the restaurant is very pricey for the quality. The top floor... More

The new Acropolis museum is architectually wonderful, filled with relics of antiquity and stands right over some ancient ruins that you can see through glass floors. It is worth a visit and was a godsend on the rainy days we were in sunny Athens. Sometimes it is open in the evenings for cultural events. There is a good movie alternating... More

Tourists can buy an all-inclusive ticket for around €12 that gets you into all the major sites. Our tour book said that the Acropolis Museum was €1 not included, and this price was posted on the museum itself. But my friend paid €5 to get in! EU students get in all historical sites for free. Despite the strange pricing, the... More

Very nicely laid out museum. Good video in English and Greek explaining the history of the Acropolis. Recommend coming here before walking up to the top of the Acropolis. Has a cafeteria and gift shop. Check on buying a ticket that allows you to see alot of different sites for 4 days. Worth it if you're visiting a lot of... More

Firstly, it is very well maintained (perhaps since it's new). The ticket which covers the 6 places to be seen at the Acropolis covers this as well. It is ideally located at the foot of the Acropolis hill, and must be seen BEFORE going to the Acropolis, since you might want to decend from the other side, after having seen... More
