We took a guided tour of Delphi, which was excellent. It is amazing to see the remains of the "Navel of the Earth". The views alone are knockout but the sheer size and scale of the site are a thrill for history buffs and museum lovers. The walk up the steep hill with the guide was fascinating, translating the inscriptions... More

A short day trip from Athens, this historical site is interesting and still very much alive. Words can't express how much effort must have gone into the construction of the site and how much of an effort a pilgrimage here would have been. Be prepared that it is quite a hilly site and that the highest attraction (the stadium) is... More

The site is amazing - there is so much to explore and its all incredible. My only advice is to visit the museum first so that you can see the reconstructions and then you can fully appreciate the site and how it would have been in its former glory. And make sure you allow plenty of time - its worth... More

I had dreamed of visiting Delphi for years and it was even more dramatic and moving than i had expected. I recommend going early in the morning when they open (8am, at least this year) as the crowds of day trippers can overwhelm the site later in the day. The trip to the stadium at top is well worth it. WOW! Talk about walking in the path of history! Beautiful views as you hike up the mountain and walk through these ruins. Stunning! Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and remember to have your question for the oracle ready! More

The town of Delphi is in a stunning location, but the ruins at Delphi are not as interesting as other sites like Olympia. And most of the ruins are not resurrected so ther is little to see other than the views. I wish I had skipped this one and headed further north to the monasteries instead. More

If you get to Delphi visiting the ruins is a high priority. The vast ruins site spreads up the mountainside which is a long tough slog, but worth it. Take your time, watch your step, and go to the top to see the stadium, and the fantastic view. More
