a monastery of St. John was unspeakable! the 11th century frescoes inside and panoramic view outside created unforgettable experience. Traveling in May also added its advantage of wild flower blossoms in the region. The island is surely the best if you want time alone. No parties in nighttime like Mykonos, for example. The essence of the Holy Spirit filled my heart and soul both times that I have visited this sacred site. The museum is a site to behold with a wonderful mixture of relics and icons. more
