We drove quite close to the castle and just had a short steep walk up steps to the castle. The ground inside the castle is very uneven so wear sensible shoes ! Some of the walls are in a poor state of repair and the drops steep ! The castle is just a shell really with some parts recently restored...

The Castle at Kritinia has been built on the cliff edge over looking the east side of Rhodes. You can see that when the Knights of St.John built this castle it must have looked really impressive.
There is a small car park with some steps leading up to the caste. Like most of the Castles on Rhodes, keeping children close...

Kritinia is little more than a ruin and consequently there is not a great deal left of it to see. That said, it stands on top of 131m hill and offers good views of the surrounding landscape. I have traveled around the world but never before have I seen a better view and sunset than from the castle of Kritinia in Rhodes. Its just magical! If you want to propose to your girl or just take someone special to a place they will never forget, this is the spot. Extremely romantic and special. Its not a tourist...
