unbeliavable place, must definately seen... It is quiet a different experience to walk in a forest which has been there for thousands of years... Very well looked after place, please note that may not be easy to visit with a kids under 7 as some places are steep... Otherwise great fun for kids... More

Who would have thought that apart from San Francisco there used to be another redwood forest in existence although some millions of years earlier. If you visit in Summer be prepared for the heat as there are very few areas other than the entrance to purchase drinks. Make sure you have a hat as you will certainly need it along... More

We drove from Molyvos with the express intention of visiting the petrified forest, unfortunately we got distracted in the local town of Sigri where we found a lovely little taverna overlooking an attractive beach within a sheltered bay. After a very relaxing few hours we checked out the time and to our surprise most of the afternoon had already gone.... More

Well, you have petrified chunk of trees lying aroung. Its hot, there is no shade, path is steep and dangerous. Please buy bottle of water per person before going down! There is a toilet, but I will put a photo later on. Its quite middle-age scene ;-) Parking is small, so everybody parked just on the street. From the other... More

If you are travelling Greece may be you will forget this island, because there are lots of places in Greece may be. However the island of Lesbos (Midilli) is not a touristic attraction but an island where you can feel the Aegean spirit. Furthermore, if you are travelling the Aegean region of Turkey, it is very easy to visit the... More

There are three fields with petrified trees and a very well organized museum near Sigri. Be prepared to see magnificent monuments of earth's history. Don't forget to wear a hat and have a bottle of water while walking between these huge petrified trees. The museum frequently organizes themed events, some especially for children. More

The petrified tree stumps were well spread out, rather than a dense forest which I imagined. A lengthy, hot walk, but a world rarity which has to be seen if in Lesbos. More
