Highly recommend it. The journey there is breath taking from Kalamata on the Langadha pass, with a series of hairpin bends to negotiate. Have to say the roads are well maintained. Mystra is a Byzantine fortress that can be seen from Sparta located on a hill at the base of Mt. Taygetos. It's about a 15 minute drive from Sparta to Mystra.
