Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful beach. You can drive all the way down in a car , it does turn into a dirt road near the end, but it is fine to drive on. Sea is beautifully clear, beach is pebbly, there were Sunbeds and a cafe open at the very last day of September ( just so you know there were many cats at the cafe and a couple geese!)

This large beach, famed on many adverts and social media platforms lives up to the great expectations. The setting is wonderful seemingly surrounded by the typography of Alonissos and its neighbouring Island Peristera. There are even ducks using the water like it's their own pond! The water is crystal clear and easily accessible from the small uniformed size small pebbles that form the beach. Enough free parking and two good eating choices with facilities on site. Sun beds and parasol €8. Great value and world class for sure. There is an inflatable section for children.

Can get v busy and in consequence the car park will fill up! There is some parking at the end of the coast road giving a short walk to the beach. Couple of restaurants at the beach. Pebbles. Worth a look but there are better spots.

Alonissos beaches are my favorite in the world. The water is clear, aqua, blue, and so clean. Agios Dimitrios is a large triangular shaped beach and you can pick a spot in several spots that provide umbrellas and loungers.

I stayed at the far end with several taverna choices.

It looks very much like a lake here to me. Like a nice Finger Lake honestly. Low green hills in the distance. Less ocean looking. It is very nice. It’s worth the trip out to see it, but it’s not my top three beaches on Alonissos—which I think is unusual because it’s popular.

The drawback for me is it’s a distance from the port (though there are daily buses to beaches from the port for a great price! Currently €6 round trip and Agios is €10.) The destinations rotate so check to see the schedule!

There are cats everywhere in Greece. They look healthy. It may have been the lack of wind but the end of the beach I was in smelled intermittently strongly of cats.

Fabulous beach - spent the entire day on the beach - crystal clear waters and quietness- bliss! No crowds or music to annoy! Tavern on the beach staffed by a friendly lady - great food on offer . A must visit on Alonissos!

My favourite beach and it did not disappoint this year. The water is crystal clear, it is quiet and not crowded.

There are inflatables for children but right at the end, away from sunbeds and shades.

If you want to loose yourself in the moment, sit in the shallows and play, bask in warm seas and marvel at all the colourful pebbles, this is the place.

Its clean, there is a bar and toilet facilities.

Cars get parked under trees - they can get dusty

The scenery is great and so is the beach and the cristal clear water. However, absolutely avoid the organized rented umbrella and sun beds at the tip of the beach: this part is left dirty and full of scrap at day end, the beach tenant looks like he just escaped from prison with his rough manners, easily irritable and customer unfriendly behavior. Are there no Greeks left on Alonissos who would be thrilled to offer a great experience and clean up the place from trash every evening and regularly?!

On the other hand, there is a beach bar with excellent and super friendly service. They also rent umbrellas and sun beds, so prefer this part of the Agios Dimitrios beach, even if it is not the impressive tip of the beach, it is clean, offers snacks and drinks served at your rented beach umbrella, excellent snacks and perfect service. I wished that the other beach tenant mentioned above would follow their example and adopt the more « Greek-like » firndly attifude of his host country…

All you need to have in the amazing setting on the most authentic island of all. Not crowded, though the boat brought some families for a few hours to enjoy swimming. An excellent small place to have a snack and a drink. Super clean. The beach looks breathtaking from outside, not when you are sunbathing or swimming there :). We saw even more comfortable sun beds a bit further from the main point of entry, seemingly for free. Easy parking.

The trees reach the beach. The large sand/fine stones curved beach goes onto a calm blue-green sea.
The road is twisty and sometimes a bit difficult but it is worth the trip.
When you get there, walk to the end, to Food-Bar. (They have Facebook but are not (?yet) on TripAdvisor.)

Food-Bar is a lovely, family run (a friendly young couple, and I think the mother in the kitchen) beach bar-restaurant with home prepared Alonissos tuna (a must) and home made food. (Delicious and VERY affordable.)

What more can I say?

The pictures should tell the rest, I hope.

Enjoy.

Worth the drive - really quiet with lots of sunbeds free.

View is lovely and breeze from the sea makes the beach really cool and relaxing
