Along with these courses, guests can enjoy yoga and Music & Arts courses whilst enjoying all the pleasures of a Greek island holiday.Skyros holidays have been described as 'the first and still the best' alternative holiday by The Guardian. The Sunday Times described it as 'One of the world's best holidays'. The Writers' Lab, in particular, has received acclaim as 'No. 1 of the World's Five Best Writing Holidays' by The Guardian. The holidays tend to attract solo travellers and single supplements are avoided as most guests take the option to share twin accommodation with others of the same gender and similar age.A huge majority - over 80 percent - report that the Skyros experience had a lasting positive effect on their lives. Even after they have said that Skyros was the 'holiday of a lifetime', nearly a third come back again and again. « less

My creating comedy holiday at the Skyros Centre was the start of wonderful things. Arthur Smith was an inspiration and so were the wonderful surroundings. A warm and nurturing environment. Lots and lots of fun as well as learning. The people who live and work there year round make it feel like a home from home and although this was... More

I arrived at Skyros Centre not knowing what to expect. I found a wonderful place set in the heart of the village. The island itself is beautiful and unspoilt (I've been to other Greek islands) and there is an uncluttered and clean beach to be enjoyed in the afternoons. The courses on offer were a delightful balance between the spiritual and the... If you haven't heard of the most beautiful and unspoilt Greek Island of Skyros where have you been all your life? Not only is this the quintessential unspoilt Greece with golden sands, olive groves, wild forests, hidden bays and pretty towns but the Skyros Centre and Atsitsa Bay offer some of the best holistic holidays in the world. With wonderful... More

The 10 day writers lab ticked all the boxes; stunning location, supportive enviroment, fabulous tutor (Sam North) and as many laughs as you could ever want. The island is simply wonderful. (Think Zante and then flip it.) The course is very well run; yoga in the morning, writing in the day, mimi at night. You can dip in and out... More

I took part in a Writers' Lab at Skyros Centre last summer. The facilitator was great. He gave us some good practical tips and was really encouraging. I came away inspired and have written a couple of short stories and five thousand words of my first novel since. But it wasn't just about the writing. It is a totally relaxing... More

Skyros Centre is cool, quiet and sympathetic. Beautiful views, and the food provided is 'to die for'. I was always well looked after as a visitor, although basic accomodation, the experience is unique. Certainly not to be missed! There are courses of writing, life skills and yoga provided, and the people I spoke to had always enjoyed their time there. More

I will never forget arriving at the Skyros Centre (feeling a little travel sick and forlorn) and being immediately welcomed by the very lovely and helpful Andrew Stewart ( an irreplaceable member of the Skyros centre team.) It marked the beginning of the most amazing holiday of my life - beautiful people, wonderful food, gorgeous sunsets, a quaintly endearing Greek... More

The first time I went to Skyros was in 2003 when a friend suggested it and I was reluctant because it looked a bit 'hippy' for me. I booked the writing course. The best way I can explain what happened is that I showed the real me and they didn't run away screaming. It was enough to draw me back... More

To say I was sceptical about this holiday from the outset was an understatement. My friend had been and raved about it, personally I couldn't see what the fuss was about... then I went. Originally I'd signed up for the writers lab but once I arrived I suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to switch to the life choices course with... More
