I walked the Stroget every day when I was in Copenhagen during my 10-day trip. I walked it in the morning, afternoon and night. There are lots of options for food, coffee, drinks and shopping along this pedestrian walkway, and they range from cheap to expensive. As a frugal traveler, I found the China Box and schawarma stands to offer... More

Strøget is the long walking / shopping street in the center of Copenhagen. The part closest to Rådhuspladsen is the cheaper part. The part closer to Kongens Nytorv is where you find designer brands and upscale cafés and restaurants. Strolling from one end to the other should take you no more than 20 minutes. Street musicians add an interesting flavour... More

As for a person living in Copenhagen, I hardly ever go there. But when friends and family drop by, we always go. it is a very toruristy place, but a must see! More

Yes, it's a pedestrianised street with lots of retail opportunities. However, I recall reading a few weeks ago that it is the longest pedestrianised street in the world; this might have been hype as I cannot recall what publication it was. Personally, on a late Thursday afternoon in glorious weather, I felt there were just too many visitors to enjoy... More

This was a nice place to window shop and people watch. I was thrilled to bring home a Lego from Copenhagen for a special little girl! More

Many people rave about the great shops on Strøget. I guess I am not that impressed, as I prefer the smaller specialist shops in the side streets and in other areas of Copenhagen. It used to be a pedestrian street, but now so many people bike and even drive cars there that the concept is seriously flawed. More

Stroget is a pedestrianised shopping area, with many shops. Most are chains that you'll see in any European capital city, but there are one or two more quirky/interesting outlets. A great place to pick up a souvenir is the Lego shop, which sells fridge magnets consisting of a small Lego figure with a Danish flag and the word "Copenhagen". Much... More

When you think of Stroget, you can compare it to Oxford street in London. This street has all the shops that are popular among teens, but also for the adults they have shops. There is even a really big shopping mall that is comparable to Harrods, but then a bit less exclusive. For the shopaholics among us, this is heaven... More

There is a lot of talk about Stöget, but it is a big steet without cars and with a lot of "chain shops".. Venture into the side street and you'll find much more interesting shops, less tourists and ... More
